Key Fob Locking Not Working or Unlocking

To accomplish this, you must follow a procedure that typically involves inserting and pulling out your key a few times, followed by pressing one of the lock or unlock buttons on the fob. The correct sequence of key turns and button presses will reset your fob to its initial settings.
If the unlock button on your key fob does not work, it's likely that the battery is dead inside the fob, or that the antenna or wiring that allows keyless entry is malfunctioning. Other reasons that your key fob won't unlock could be due to a defective door lock or a malfunctioning power tailgate and trunk release switches.
